Will credit cards now come with fingerprint sensors?
Numerous smartphones and security systems use fingerprint sensors to protect users’ privacy.
It has recently come to light that a well-known Korean technology company and MasterCard are also about to include biometric systems in payment cards.
According to a foreign news agency, Korean technology company Samsung has signed an MoU (memorandum) with MasterCard under which the two companies will jointly include fingerprint sensors in payment cards.
This measure is designed to secure the customer’s payment experience and minimize direct physical contact of the person withdrawing money from the payment terminal. Under this system, customers will not need to enter a PIN code to withdraw payments.
According to reports, these biometric cards will be fitted with new security chipsets that will be manufactured by Samsung Systems LSI Business.
Note that these new cards are called Samsung cards, which will initially be available to consumers in South Korea.
