WhatsApp introduces new privacy feature
California: Instant messaging application WhatsApp has introduced new privacy control settings for users using which users will now have the option to add their profile picture, information about themselves, last scene to whomever they want. And show WhatsApp status.
WhatsApp released this new feature for beta testers last year, but now the company has released this feature for the general public.
In a recent tweet, WhatsApp announced that the company has released strict privacy control settings for its users. So far, users can apply three types of privacy to their WhatsApp status, last scene and information about themselves: 1) Available to all, 2) Only your contacts, 3) Completely invisible.
But now a new option has been added according to which users will be able to hide their profile picture etc. from some of their contacts. While all these things will be obvious to the rest. This is a new form of blacklisting.
For these settings, tap the three dots at the top right of the screen, go to Settings, then Accounts, and then Privacy.
