Sri Lanka terminates port agreement with India and Japan
An agreement was reached between the three countries for the Colombo Port Strategic Container Terminal, under which 49% of the terminal’s shares would be owned by India and Japan.

According to media reports, the Sri Lankan trade union and opposition parties were pushing for the agreement to be terminated, after which Sri Lanka terminated the agreement.
