Significant progress in the case of ships stranded in the Suez Canal
Cairo: Work is underway to evacuate a giant ship stranded in the Suez Canal, with about 250 cargo ships in line waiting for their turn to pass.
In this regard, Egyptian officials say that efforts are still underway to rescue the ship Evergreen, which was stranded in the Suez Canal, and the operation is expected to be completed by the end of this week.
According to the foreign news agency, it has been reported in the news that the operation to remove the said ship from the canal Suez was started from last week, but so far no significant result has been found.
Earlier, it was thought that the work would be completed in two days. On the other hand, due to the closure of the Suez Canal, 240 ships loaded with oil and other goods are waiting to open their way to the high seas.
Experts fear that the closure of the Suez Canal could affect the daily supply of food, oil and vaccines worldwide by 10 to 12 percent.
It is worth mentioning that this gigantic cargo ship weighing 2,000 tons had a technical malfunction while crossing the Suez Canal on Tuesday last week, due to which the world’s most important waterway connecting Europe and Asia was closed.
