Victoria: A new study from Australia has found that older people who walk abnormally should have a medical examination of their ability to think and understand.

The study, by experts, involved about 17,000 people over the age of 65 and found that participants who walked at a slower rate of about 5% or more and had memory problems I was most likely to have dementia.

Tia Collier, author of the study and a research fellow at Monash University in Australia, said the findings highlight the importance of walking style in diagnosing dementia.
The findings come after a study of nearly 9,000 American adults in 2020 found a link between slow walking and memory loss and a future risk of dementia.

Research shows that the relationship between walking speed and brain functions may be due to contraction of the right hippocampus of the brain. The hippocampus is the part of the brain that is responsible for the ability to learn, remember, and find its way.

At the same time, previous studies have shown that aerobic exercise, such as walking, running, swimming, cycling, etc., can enlarge the hippocampus and improve memory.
