Money laundering case; Hamza Shahbaz withdrew his bail application from the Supreme Court
ISLAMABAD: Hamza Shahbaz has withdrawn his bail application from the Supreme Court in a money laundering case.
In the money laundering case, Hamza Shahbaz withdrew his bail application from the Supreme Court. However, the Supreme Court rejected Hamza Shahbaz’s bail application on the ground of withdrawal.
Earlier in the hearing, Justice Sardar Tariq said that Hamza Shahbaz would withdraw the petition or would he like to follow it? No case has been filed in the High Court on the basis of hardship. Justice Yahya Afridi said that the point which was not taken up in the High Court could not be taken up directly in the Supreme Court. It would be appropriate to approach the High Court after the report of the accountability court.
Lawyer Hamza Shahbaz said that no one can be detained for an indefinite period. He applied for bail but no reference was made against him. The charge was Rs 7 billion. The reference was Rs 53 crore. The case has improved after the reference was filed.
