Former US President Donald Trump’s company has been charged with tax evasion
WASHINGTON: Former President Donald Trump’s company Global Real Estate has been accused of tax evasion for 15 years, and Alan Wieselberg, the company’s chief financial officer, was arraigned in court today.
According to the American Broadcasting Corporation, the former president’s chief financial officer appeared in court, and the prosecutor questioned the company’s failure to pay taxes for 15 years. Alan Wieselberg has already been charged.
Prosecutors told the court that the former president’s top executives secretly charge higher salaries, but the document shows lower salaries in order to avoid taxes. There are also allegations of non-payment of tax on dollar income.
It is believed that Alan Wieselberg, a trusted aide to Trump, presented himself for questioning and appeared in court after learning of the indictment. The court acquitted Alan Wieselberg of under-reporting the officers’ salaries, but imposed a travel ban until the investigation was completed.
It should be noted that the ongoing investigation against former President Donald Trump is a continuation of the ongoing investigation into his business practices and tax payments, which has intensified since the former president’s resignation.
